We also specialize in wine and beer pairings, from selecting the wines and beers to pairing them to the right cheeses, chocolates, appetizers and dinners.

Growing up in Southern California, Sophia was always surrounded by gatherings at their Los Angeles home. Her mother who loved to cook and entertain would let Sophia help prep and assist whenever possible.

Her mother’s passion was passed on to Sophia, and her love for entertaining and doing events led her to a career in entertainment public relations. Upon moving to Los Angeles, with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Sophia climbed the corporate ladder and eventually ended up working at several of the biggest public relations agencies in the country. Over the span of fifteen years, Sophia has worked on many red carpet events, organized dinner parties and press tours for top food/travel media and celebrities. Sophia has also worked on over a dozen high-end wineries, restaurants and resorts/hotels throughout the world where she gained even more knowledge about fine dining, wine and travel.

On the weekends, Sophia could be found in her kitchen, creating stylish and perfectly delicious dinner parties and gatherings for friends: Entertaining with such style and ease that she was soon getting requests for her to assist others with their various events. Amongst her close group of friends Sophia was known as the planner, and any travel get-a-ways were always arranged by her.

The culmination of her own entrepreneurial spirit, love for cooking, shopping, entertaining, travel, and experience with lifestyle public relations, prompted Sophia to give up her day job and launch Gal Pal Friday along with her best friend of 25 years, Mia Doeve.

Sophia has incorporated her take-charge organizational skills, attention to detail, and knowledge into a multi-faceted business, offering an array of services.

Currently, Sophia resides in Irvine, CA and in her spare time continues to further her knowledge by taking cooking and wine classes and volunteers for several non-profit charities.
